GM Appoints The Next Wave Of HUMMER Dealerships
Dealerships open in Cockeysville, MD, Merrillville, IN, Tinley Park, IL and Fayetteville, AR.
Detroit, Mich - The world's premiere off-road vehicles, the HUMMER H1 and soon to market HUMMER H2, are at four new GM HUMMER dealerships in Cockeysville, Maryland, Merrillville, Indiana, Tinley Park, IL and Fayetteville, Arkansas.
General Motors signed a new HUMMER division dealer agreement with dealerships in each of these markets that exemplify the highest standards of performance among GM dealers in customer service, sales and profitability. The following dealers have been appointed as of May 1, 2002: Bruce Mortimer of Anderson HUMMER in Cockeysville, Maryland; Richard Schepel of Schepel HUMMER in Merrillville, Indiana; Anthony Rizza of Rizza HUMMER in Tinley Park, Illinois; and Dwight T. Everett of Landers HUMMER in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
"GM is proud to announce these new dealerships for GM's HUMMER division. GM HUMMER dealers represent an elite group whose commitment to customer service and sales performance is truly outstanding," said Steve Hill, HUMMER director of sales and service.
The addition of these four new dealer points brings the total number of new GM HUMMER dealerships to 84 of the 150 planned by summer of 2002.
Customers at the new GM HUMMER dealerships can expect treatment competitive with other luxury manufacturers. In the future, that will include a unique and daring dealer environment. The first of these HUMMER exclusive stores will open this summer in Milwaukee.
The GM HUMMER division consists of two models, the H1, based on the military HUMVEE, and the all-new 2003 H2 SUV. The H1 has two distinct body styles, a 4-Door Wagon and 4-Door Soft-Top. The H2 SUV will go on sale in July 2002.
General Motors and AM General reached an agreement in December 1999 in which GM acquired exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide.
