Opel Vivaro As "Combi" People Carrier And Long-Wheelbase Panel Van

Additional versions of the innovative van and transporter range

  • "Combi" people carrier with up to nine seats in three rows
  • Panel van with long wheelbase offers even more transport capacity
Rüsselsheim.Stylish, practical and as comfortable and safe as a passenger car - the Opel Vivaro has set new standards in the light commercial vehicle market. Europe's "International Van of the Year 2002" is now available in two new variants, as a "Combi" people carrier and a long-wheelbase panel van.

The Vivaro "Combi" has nine seats in three rows, a sliding door on the passenger side and a large double wing rear door, all as standard. The "Combi" can also be ordered with only two seating rows (six seats), or a single row (three seats) and correspondingly larger storage areas. On the six and nine-seat models the rear seat row can be quickly and easily folded for more storage room. Currently available with a short wheelbase (3098 millimeters, 2.7, or 2.9 tonne gross vehicle weight), the "Combi" will also be offered with a longer version (3498 millimeters, 2.9 tonne gross vehicle weight) this summer.

The panel van version of the Opel Vivaro was launched with a short wheelbase (3098 millimeters) in the summer of 2001. The 3498 millimeter long wheelbase version with a volume capacity of 5.9 cubic meters is also available now. Like its shorter brother, the long version features a flat cargo area with low loading bed level, a side sliding door and a double-wing rear door that can be locked into either 90-degree or 180 degree positions.

The Vivaro "Combi" and panel van can be ordered with a second sliding door on the driver's side and a double-wing version of the rear door with a 250 degree opening angle. A single unit rear door with a window is optional on the short version.

The Opel Vivaro is available with a choice of two economical 1.9 liter turbodiesels with common rail direct injection. The customer has the choice of a 60 kW / 82 hp 1.9 base version and the 1.9 DTI with 74 kW / 100 hp. Another alternative, a 2.0 liter four-valve 88 kW / 120 hp gasoline motor, will become available from the middle of this year.

Right from the start the Opel Vivaro series was designed as an especially variable commercial vehicle program with the broadest possible performance spectrum. Further model variants and engines are being prepared for the Vivaro range such as, for example, a high-roof version and an especially powerful 98 kW / 133 hp 2.5 liter four-valve turbo-diesel with common rail fuel injection
