Hub problem with some M'bish heavy-duty vehicles

Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 09:30 JST TOKYO — Mitsubishi Motors Corp said Friday it found 16.3% of its 62,843 heavy-duty vehicles inspected had excessively worn hubs which may lead tires to separate from the vehicle.

The major automaker inspected the heavy-duty vehicles for three months through Monday, following a series of incidents involving tires separating from vehicles, including one in which a tire separated from a trailer and hit and killed a woman in Yokohama in January. (Kyodo News)
