SAE Introduces New VRSCA V-Rod Harley-Davidson June 6

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich.--April 26, 2002--The VRSCA V-Rod(TM) is the newest offering from Harley-Davidson.
It is a result of a collaborative effort between Harley-Davidson's Engineering and Styling departments.
"The goal for developing the VRSCA V-Rod was to create a true performance custom bike with power and style that was both groundbreaking and true to Harley-Davidson," said Vice President of Engineering Earl Werner.
The VRSCA V-Rod has an all-new 1130cc H-D "Revolution" engine that is a street-legal descendant of the engine that powers the VR 1000 Superbike. One of the innovations of this engine is liquid cooling, which allows for increased horsepower and higher RPM - a Harley-Davidson first for a street bike.
To learn more about the VRSCA V-Rod, come to the SAE Detroit Section's Special Event, June 6 at Freedom Hill County Park 15000 Metropolitan Parkway, two miles east of Van Dyke Rd. in Sterling Heights, MI. This Special Event will also include a "Ride-In Bike Show" beginning at 3 p.m., MotorClothes(TM) fashion show, picnic style dinner, 5 - 7 p.m., and the V-Rod presentation at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $30 ($15 for student SAE members) and can be purchased on-line at www.sae-detroit.org, or by calling the SAE-Detroit Office at 248/324-4445.
