SkyDeck- A Patio In The Sky

LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif., April 3 -- SkyDeck Industries, LLC covered a lot of ground and raised a lot of interest among recreational vehicle dealers with its patented SkyDeck(TM) travel trailers and motorhomes during a just-completed six-state tour of the West.

The Lake Arrowhead, Calif.-based developer of SkyDeck technology said it has signed up several new dealers with a presence in six states to carry motorhomes and travel trailers with its unique rooftop patio during the two- week tour. The SkyDeck, which offers the industry's only ``view from the top,'' comes complete with a wet bar, barbeque grill and cushioned seating for 8-12 people.

The just-completed tour through California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado brings the total number of SkyDeck dealers to 30 with 41 locations in 25 states and Canada. Thor America, Inc. and Airstream, both divisions of Thor Industries, Inc. are building Class A motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheels and toy-haulers with SkyDeck rooftop patios.

``In just three months, we have exceeded our dealer and sales projection for the entire first year, which is testament to the tremendous popularity of the SkyDeck concept,'' said Jim Teeter, president of SkyDeck Industries. ``Retailers and RVers alike recognize the distinctive benefits of our one-of-a- kind rooftop patio. Our West Coast road show proved to be an excellent way to raise awareness of the SkyDeck, and we plan to launch a similar tour through the East Coast and Northern Pacific this spring.''

Teeter said that SkyDeck will also unveil its new line of diesel motorhomes manufactured by Airstream during the Great American Rally in Pomona, Calif., June 28-July 1.

The West Coast tour comes on the heels of the SkyDeck's successful introduction at the 2001 Recreational Vehicle Industry Association show in Louisville, Kentucky. Called one of the most popular product introductions at the show, the SkyDeck adds livable space to motorhomes, trailers and fifth- wheels where slideouts and basements cannot.
