SXT Models Broaden Dodge Lineup for Spring

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 28 -- Dodge is expanding its model lineup this spring with the introduction of four new SXT model cars and trucks. Dodge SXTs combine high-value content, style and fun-to-drive characteristics.

Dodge Neon, Stratus Sedan and Coupe, and Dodge Intrepid join the Dodge Durango and Dakota as SXT family members. These Dodge SXTs will be available for only a limited time.

``Our goal is to draw new customers with a high-value product line that combines all the great Dodge performance characteristics with even greater value,'' said Jim Julow, Vice President - Dodge Global Brand Center. ``We plan to support the 2002 Dodge SXT line with national promotions, timed to the spring selling season.''

Dodge Neon SXT models have a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $13,995, when equipped with five-speed manual transmission and include all of the features of the popular ES models. Among them are a 132-horsepower 2.0-liter SOHC engine, 15-inch aluminum wheels, keyless entry, power locks and mirrors. SXT packaging adds value by including an AM/FM/CD radio, six-speaker stereo sound, a tachometer, body-color instrument panel bezels (yellow, red and blue), fog lamps, decklid spoiler, and a high-impact yellow paint option.

Dodge Stratus SXT sedans receive SE-level equipment and are priced at $17,995. Included in the SXT package at no additional charge are 16-inch aluminum wheels, speed control, keyless entry, AM/FM/CD radio, power mirrors and wide body side molding.

Dodge Stratus SXT coupes feature SE options and have an MSRP of $18,995. Added to the value package at no charge are 16-inch aluminum wheels, AM/FM four-disc CD radio, power seats with lumbar adjustment, keyless entry, security alarm and bright exhaust tip.

Dodge Intrepid SXT models are loaded with features for $23,995. Intrepid SXTs start with ES-level packaging, yet add the high-output 244 horsepower 3.5-liter Magnum V-6 from the top-of-the-line Intrepid R/T. SXT Intrepids also receive 17-inch polished aluminum wheels, P225/55R17 all-season touring tires, touring suspension, decklid spoiler and bright exhaust tips. Inside owners will appreciate the premium six-speaker sound system with 120-watt amplifier, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

``Buyers who comparison-shop the SXT models are going to find that Dodge sells the best combination of style, features and performance for the money,'' added Julow. ``Dollar-for-dollar, they blow the competition away.''

Dodge previously introduced sporty new SXT models in the truck line including the Durango and Dakota.

Durango SXT models are distinguished by graphite metallic accent colors on the grille, front and rear fascias and wheel flares. They also feature 16x8- inch cast aluminum wheels, AM/FM stereo radio with CD player and front and rear floor mats. Durango SXT is equipped with a 150-pound capacity roof rack, Next Generation 4.7-liter Magnum V-8 engine with multi-speed automatic transmission and available options including supplemental side-curtain air bags, fog lamps, skid plates and graphite metallic running boards. Dodge Durango SXT can be ordered in both 4x4 and 4x2. Prices start at $26,100.

Dakota SXT models are available in regular and club cab configurations and a choice of 4x4 and 4x2 chassis with prices starting at $16,045. They feature the 175-horsepower 3.9-liter Magnum V-6 engine with a choice of transmissions. All Dakota SXTs feature graphite metallic front and rear fascias, wheel flares and grille, 16x8-inch cast aluminum wheels and rear stabilizer bar. Stabilizer bar is not available on 4x2 Regular Cabs. Inside SXT is equipped with high-back front bucket seats with center floor console, AM/FM stereo radio with CD player and changer controls and four speaker sound system.

Already arriving in Dodge dealerships, the SXT family of automobiles will be featured in Dodge brand marketing communications from March through June, 2002. Dealers are currently taking orders for all Dodge SXT models.
