Evenflo Announces Availability of Safety Upgrade Kit for Triumph Car Seats

VANDALIA, Ohio--March 25, 2002--Evenflo Company, Inc. is offering a free safety upgrade kit to owners of certain Evenflo Triumph(TM) children's car seats.
Evenflo has discovered that two components of the harness system manufactured by an Evenflo supplier may not meet performance specifications. Defective components could prevent the child from being properly restrained in the event of a collision event. The kit ensures the harness system meets performance specifications.
This kit is for all Triumph(TM) car seats manufactured between October 20, 2001 and January 31, 2002. The car seats have model numbers beginning with the three digits "264." The model number and date of manufacture may be found on a white label on the lower, backside of the car seat. Evenflo estimates that there are about 8,900 affected Triumph(TM) car seats currently in the hands of consumers.
Consumers who own Triumph(TM) car seats manufactured between October 20, 2001 and January 31, 2002 should call Evenflo immediately at (800) 425-1967 anytime to receive a free kit. Consumers may also register via the Internet to receive a free kit by visiting www.triumphcarseat.com.
