Florida Lottery Motorcycle Winners Claim Their Hogs
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--March 21, 2002--Not one, but two Florida Lottery players are the first winners to claim new Harley-Davidson® Sportster® 1200 Custom(TM) motorcycles as part of the Florida Lottery's new Scratch-Off game HARLEY-DAVIDSON.
Both winners claimed their top prize within a week of each other in South Florida.
Stephen McCraney, 41, of Miami presented his winning Harley-Davidson® motorcycle in the Lottery's Miami District Office on March 11. The winner was not available for his reaction.
The second winner, Joanne Cohen, 50, of Sunrise, presented her winning ticket in the Fort Lauderdale District Office on Monday, March 18.
``I was shocked when I scratched my ticket and it showed that I won a Harley!'' said a jubilant Joanne, who is now retired. ``I couldn't believe that I won the motorcycle, so I took my ticket over to a neighborhood Lottery retailer to have them check it, and it was true.''
``I'm not a motorcycle person myself, but my husband, Jeff, has had motorcycles before, but never a Harley-Davidson,'' she said.
HARLEY-DAVIDSON Scratch-Off tickets cost $2 each and offer players a chance to win one of six remaining instant-win Sportster® 1200 Customs(TM) or one of four Heritage Softail Classic® motorcycles. In addition, players have a chance to win more than $10 million in cash prizes, including a top prize of $10,000! The Lottery has already awarded $2.1 million in prizes since the game began Feb. 28. Players also can win: free tickets, $2, $5, $10, $20, $30, $50, $100, $500, and $10,000. Overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-3.33.
Players have a chance to win the Harley-Davidson® Heritage Softail Classic® motorcycle and other Harley-Davidson merchandise prizes in one of four ``second chance'' bonus drawings. To enter the bonus drawing, mail three NON-WINNING H-D tickets in a H-D envelope, available at Lottery retail locations. Four hundred Harley-Davidson® merchandise prize packages will be awarded in each drawing. Use only one and the same name on each entry.
