E-Tickets Make NY Auto Show Debut

NEW YORK, March 12 -- For the first time, visitors to the New York International Automobile Show will be able to purchase tickets to the Show from the comfort of their own homes by logging on to http://www.autoshowNY.com.

``This new initiative, made possible by the use of state-of-the-art ticketing software, is part of a continued effort to make the Show-going experience easier,'' said Show Director Candida Romanelli.

Tickets are also available at the door, through one of the combined travel/show discount packages negotiated with Metro-North Railroad, Long Island Railroad, and the New York Waterway, or through Ticketmaster.

``The Show's range of ticket purchasing options grows as the New York Auto Show continues to attract more and more visitors,'' continued Romanelli.

Here are the latest ticket buying options:

E-tickets (http://www.autoshowNY.com)

The Show's e-ticket purchasing program at http://www.autoshowNY.com provides visitors with a quick and easy way to buy tickets to the 2002 New York International Automobile Show. With an advance e-ticket show goers will be able to bypass the box office line and enter the show from one of three express e-ticket entrances. Advance purchase e-tickets are valid for one day only, between March 29th through April 7th, 2002.

Ticketmaster

Show tickets can also be purchased by contacting Ticketmaster at (212) 307-7171, (631) 888-9000, (845) 454-3388, (201) 507-8900, and (203) 624-0033, or by visiting their web site at http://www.ticketmaster.com, and at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Group Discounts

A group discount of $1 off each ticket is given to groups of 10 or more adults. For more information fax name, phone number, fax number, and number of tickets required to (718) 746-9333 before March 20th. After the 20th, please call (212) 624-7000.

Special Promotions

Metro North Railroad will offer an over 35% discounted special event ticket package, including a discounted rail fare and Auto show coupon. The Long Island Rail Road will offer a special Auto Show discount package, including rail fare and admission to the show, at a cost of $15 in zones 1-11. Additional LIRR information is available in New York City at (718) 217-LIRR; in Nassau at (516) 822-LIRR; and in Suffolk at (631) 231-LIRR.

New York Waterway, whose New York terminal is located just one block from the Javits Center, will sell a combination round-trip ferry and show admission ticket for $19.00 for adults and $8.00 for children, with an additional $6.00 charged for parking.
