Volvo Construction Equipment to Launch Own Backhoe Loader

    STOCKHOLM, Sweden--Dec. 12, 2001--Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has created its own and completely new Backhoe Loader range.
    To develop and design this new machine, Volvo CE has put together a highly experienced team of product specialists coming from key markets worldwide. The finished product will be the result of a close cooperation between this team of engineers, marketing specialists and many customers from various countries and backgrounds, who played an important role in helping Volvo to define the machine's specifications.
    The Volvo Backhoe Loader will be shown for the first time at ConExpo, Las Vegas (USA), in March 2002.
    The new Backhoe Loader will be produced at Volvo Poland Industries in Wroclaw (Poland), a state of the art Volvo manufacturing facility, where Volvo has manufactured part of its range of buses since 1996.
    The yearly average world-market for Backhoe Loaders is between 50,000 to 70,000 units.
