Forget 99 Cents Per Gallon, I found Gas for 97 Cents

Sacramento, CA - As I reported yesterday, I was thrilled to find gasoline in Bakersfield, CA for just 99.9 cents per gallon, while driving from Sacramento to Willow Springs Raceway.

Well, last night, on my return trip, I found even cheaper gas! At the Texaco station located on the corner of Kilmer Way and Hwy 58 in Bakersfield (just about two blocks from the ARCO AM/PM), regular unleaded was only 97.9, 89 octane was 107.9, and premium was 117.9.

They also had pretty good coffee in their mini-mart.

The young lady behind the counter was unable to tell me why their gas was so cheap, and she seemed to be a bit oblivious as to why I would ask the question.

You know what they say, "Don't look a gift-camel in the mouth."

Happy motoring.
