STOP THE PRESSES: 99 Cent Gas in Bakersfield

Lancaster, CA - WOW! While en route to the annual Motor Press Guild Track
Day at Willow Springs Raceway, I found a most remarkable and welcome sight:
a sign advertising gasoline for 99 cents per gallon.

And sure enough, with no strings attached, and with apparently unlimited
supply (at least temporarily), I filled up the tank of my vehicle for less
than a buck per gallon. The gas station is the ARCO AM/PM located on the
intersection of Hwy 58 and Jet Way Avenue in Bakersfield, CA, just a couple
miles west of Hwy. 99. I had passed the station while traveling between
I-5 and Hwy 99. I can hardly wait until tonight, when I head back to
Sacramento, and fill up once again.

By the way, the prices for Unleaded Plus and Premium weren't too bad
either, 111.9 and 121.9, respectively.
