AMA Prostar Drag Racing World Finals, Gainesville Raceway, Gainesville, Florida, November 9-11 Honda-supported Kent Stotz, racing for Stotz Street Xtreme aboard his turbocharged 2001 CBR1100XX, won the AMA Prostar Street Bike Shootout title on Sunday, November 11, in Gainesville, Florida. During the weekend's championship chase, Stotz set a new AMA Prostar drag racing record by covering the quarter mile in 7.75 seconds at 189.3 mph. Stotz and his Honda CBR1100XX are now officially "the world's fastest street bike". "It feels great to be champion," said Stotz. "I really want to thank American Honda for the bike and the Honda Rider's Club of America for all of their support. We are looking forward to another great season in 2002." " It was rewarding to see Kent stand in the winner's circle after all he has put into this program," said American Honda's Charlie Keller. " Not only has Kent been a great competitor, he is also a super ambassador for the Honda Rider's Club of America and motorcycling." The Honda Rider's Club of America (HRCA) sponsors Stotz Street Xtreme. Established in 1991, the HRCA supports Honda owners with member assistance programs, motorcycle safety training reimbursement, and provides support for over 60 national events and hundreds of local chapter events.
