21st Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows Kicks Off in San FranciscoSANTA ANA, Calif.--Nov. 7, 2001--On November 9-11, 2001 the 21st Annual Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows(R) Presented by Toyota Trucks kicks off its national tour at the San Mateo County Expo Center. Regarded as the nation's oldest and largest consumer-oriented powersports show series, this once-a-year gathering of new model vehicles is truly a must-see event for the whole family.
An anticipated crowd of 40,000 Northern California motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages will assemble to be among the first to preview the complete 2002 model line-up to ATVs, cruisers, dirt bikes, dualsport machines, scooters, and sport bikes in factory showcase displays from the industry's heaviest-hitters, including Aprilia, BMW, Buell, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha. Representatives from local dealerships will be on hand to answer questions and help enthusiasts determine the perfect ride for their size and experience level.
Complementing the new vehicles is an impressive aftermarket manufacturer contingent offering everything from performance parts to the latest communications hardware and apparel. Those looking to refurbish their wardrobe or dress up their ride will be pleased to know that many products on display are also available for on-site purchase. Show-goers are also invited to preview this season's hottest product offerings at "The Factory," a series of showcase displays boasting parts and accessories from companies such as Arai Helmets, Autocom Specialists Communication, Bridgestone Tire Company, Castrol, ChatterBox, Dowco Inc., Dunlop Motorcycle Tires, Dynojet Research, GIVI USA, HJC Helmets, K & N Engineering, Kendon Industries, Metzeler Motorcycle Tires, Muzzys Performance Products, Prexport, Progressive Suspension, Samson Exhaust, Shoei Helmets, Suomy Helmets, Thunder Manufacturing, Travelcade/Saddlemen, Winex Helmets and Yuasa Batteries, Inc.
Starving for two-wheeled action? Hungry crowds will tame their cravings with a feast of gravity defying acrobatics performed by Finnish Trials rider Tommi Ahvala of Team Extreme. Imagine a motorcycle launch, a 16-foot vertical wall onto a flowing 22-foot waterfall, and then landing on a suspended platform barely the length of the bike! This radical display is not for the weak at heart. Outside of the show, Ahvala competes -- and often times wins -- at professional Trials competitions internationally throughout the year, maintaining an average world ranking 'in the top 3.' Show-goers won't want to miss one of these stellar performances during daylight hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The folks at BMW of North America have found the perfect on-site solution for attendees suffering from 'new model bikes on the brain syndrome.' Licensed motorcyclists, who bring their own riding gear, including helmets, can head for the Demo Ride area to shake this common condition and preview a 2002 model BMW motorcycle first-hand.
To top it all off, one lucky show consumer may win a new motorcycle or ATV as a result of his or her trip to the San Francisco Show. Sponsored by American Suzuki Motor Corporation, the Official Motorcycle/ATV Giveaway offers consumers a chance to win a 2002 Katana(R) 600 or Eiger(TM) 400 4x4 automatic. Smaller drawings will be held throughout the show at the Product Giveaway tables. In addition to other great merchandise from leading manufacturers, one person has a chance to win a Bruce Brown autographed jacket from Malcolm Smith Racing compliments of Monterey Media, Inc.
"We are always happy to kick-off our busy traveling season in the San Francisco market," stated Jeff D'Entremont, Show Manager. "Northern Californians are some of our favorite motorcyclists in the country due to their infectious level of enthusiasm both for the show and the industry. We have worked hard all year to pull together a package of exciting new features, vehicles and exhibitors that we hope will keep them coming back for years to come."
