Watch Out Your Neighbor Is Staring-Philadelphia Traffic Court Unveils Citizen Hotline

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 31 -- Administrative Judge Fortunato Perri announced today that Philadelphia Traffic Court has established a hotline for citizens to report individuals driving without a valid license or with suspended licenses.

Perri stated that allowing unlicensed drivers to continue to drive is a threat to public safety. ``Individuals who are driving on a suspended drivers license have lost their license because they could not follow our highway safety laws. Citizens should be concerned that there are individuals operating motor vehicles on public streets. Each of us has a responsibility to report these illegal drivers to the authorities.''

``Those who violate the law need to understand that their behavior will not be tolerated, that they will be found, and they will pay the debt owed to Philadelphia taxpayers,'' Judge Perri said. ``Philadelphians are fed up with those who refuse to abide by our laws and who contribute to the deterioration of our quality life. I am confident that creating a 24-hour hotline for citizens to alert authorities on how to find these law breakers will put everyone on notice that if you live and work in Philadelphia, you will abide by our laws.''

The 24-hour citizen Hotline numbers is 215-686-1697 or 215-686-1698. Information that callers are encouraged to have available when they call the hotline include:

  • Name and Address of the driver
  • Tag number
  • Make of vehicle

Philadelphia Traffic Court's partner in implementing and enforcing license suspensions for default is Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). Since 1991, ACS has been responsible for all noticing, processing, and collection of moving violations on behalf of the Traffic Court.
