Visteon Delivers Systems to Meet a Variety of Consumer Lifestyles

FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 12 - Automakers and consumers are
interested in automotive solutions that increase vehicle personalization and
meet lifestyle needs. Visteon Corporation has developed systems
that allow automakers to meet these personalization needs.

According to Visteon research, more than 50 percent of European drivers
want to tailor their vehicles to meet their lifestyles. And Visteon has the
answer, with systems that make it possible to play up to 10 hours of
personalized music selections on one CD, to effortlessly access a variety of
digital devices, to personalizing the driving environment at the touch of a
finger.

"Supporting customers and their brands means knowing what consumers want
and delivering systems fast and flawlessly," said Joel Coque, Visteon's Vice
President and General Manager Customer Business Group. "Visteon understands
the need for personalization in the European and the global marketplace. Our
systems will support our customers' efforts to meet these needs."

Music is one of the most personalized types of information accessed by
nearly every driver.

-- Visteon's MACH(R) MP3 Music System is an integrated music system that
combines state-of-the-art MP3 player with CD/Radio features. This single-
system solution allows drivers and passengers to play up to 10 hours of music
on a single CD, and the organization of music and how it's played back is all
up to the driver. Visteon combines compressed file playback technology and
efficient memory storage to create truly flexible audio, capable of
downloading data and integrating all sources of audio use for the home and in
the car.

While in the play mode, the system allows the selection of individual
songs as well as fast forward and shuffle modes. The unique "Fast Track"
feature enables a listener to quickly scan the 10 hours of music by pushing
the track button and toggling the volume control button. The system also
features a full disc shuffle as opposed to systems that may only have a
shuffle feature within each folder.

The compact player comes equipped with an anti-shock feature and has a
total memory capacity of 650 megs allowing a driver to create his or her own
personalized CD with up to 10 hours of music. The MP3 system, which can play
regular music CDs, comes in five different "skins" to provide consumers with a
personalized, unique look.

But access to personal information, organized just as the driver likes it,
doesn't stop with music. Visteon's Bluetooth(TM) Wireless Technology makes
driver information available when it's needed, through a wireless connection
to a variety of digital devices located within the vehicle.

-- Bluetooth technology is a wireless communication protocol that is
becoming an industry standard for data/voice transfer and information sharing
among a wide array of personal electronics. And more is yet to come as
Visteon plays a leadership role on three industry standard setting committees
of the Automotive Expert Group (AEG) of Bluetooth Special Interest Group
(SIG). The SIG consists of more than 2,000 companies organized by industry
leaders Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia, IBM, 3Com, Intel, Microsoft, Toshiba and
Motorola.

Visteon can also deliver personalized solutions at the tip of a finger
through the Fingerprint Identification System. This unique automotive
solution uses a fingerprint scan to secure access to compartments, ignition
functions and other personalized features using biometric technology.
Biometrics is a measure of physical and/or behavioral characteristics unique
to each individual, which can be used for identification or authorization
purposes.

-- Visteon's Fingerprint Identification System works by storing
mathematical templates of authorized fingerprints, allowing only users who are
programmed into the system to open doors, access interior compartments and
start the vehicle. Different users can be easily added or deleted from the
system. The system also allows different levels of secured access to vehicle
functions.

The Fingerprint Identification System is compact, about the size of a
credit card, and contains a sensor and small Liquid Crystal Display.
Completely integrated into the vehicle's electrical system, fingerprint
identification capabilities can even be incorporated into existing vehicle
control modules. Power requirements are low, and all processing is done
on-board.
