Honda Odyssey, Accord, Civic, Passport Pricing Announced for 2002

    TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 30 Pricing for 2002 Honda Odyssey,
Accord, Civic and Passport models has been announced with each receiving
enhancements in standard equipment, performance and value, according to
pricing information released today by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

    The class-leading Odyssey receives a significant number of improvements
for 2002 with an additional 30-horsepower, new dual-stage front airbags and
standard side airbags, rear disc brakes and new options ranging from heated
leather seats to a factory-integrated Honda DVD Entertainment System.
Standard equipment additions increase the price of the Odyssey by only $350.
Overall, the price change represents a 1.4 percent increase on a
sales-weighted basis among LX and EX trim levels.  Odyssey pricing is as
follows: LX $24,250; EX $26,750; EX w/ Leather $28,250; EX w/ leather and
Honda DVD Entertainment System $29,750; and EX w/ leather and Honda Navigation
System $30,250.

    The MSRP for 2002 Accord sedans and coupes increases by an average of
0.6 percent on a sales weighted basis, representing a $100 increase on the DX,
LX and EX trim levels, and a $200 increase on V-6-equipped models.

    A new value-oriented Special Edition (SE) package is available on
4-cylinder coupes and sedans, adding popular features to the LX trim level
such as 15-inch alloy wheels, moonroof, keyless entry, security system, AM/FM
Cassette and CD Player, wood interior trim, driver's seat power height
adjustment, floor mats and more.  With a $20,850 MSRP, the SE package provides
a savings of $1,500 to customers.  An Accord Value Package based on the DX
sedan is also available that adds an automatic transmission, auto door locks,
AM/FM, Cassette and CD player, six speakers (previously 2), wood interior
trim, body-colored door handles and molding, floor mats and more.  The MSRP of
$17,300 also represents about a $1,000 in savings.  Side SRS is standard on
all EX and V-6 Accord models and available as a $250 option on DX and LX trim
levels.  ABS (which includes alloy wheels) is available on LX models ($1,000)
and standard on EX models.  Pricing for 2002 sedans and coupes is as follows:
DX $15,500; DX Value Package $17,300; LX $18,790; SE $20,850; EX $21,500; EX
with leather $22,650; LX V-6 $22,600; EX V-6 $25,300.

    The seventh-generation Civic, the best-selling and most-popular small car
in America, features several refinements for 2002 along with a 0.6 percent
price increase (on a sales weighted basis) among DX, HX, LX and EX trim
levels.  The 2002 Civic features enhanced interior trim pieces, more standard
features, and enhanced suspension and steering tuning.  For 2002, the MSRP
increases by $50 on DX and HX trim levels and $100 on LX and EX trim levels.
Pricing for the 2002 Civic Coupe is as follows: DX $12,810, HX $13,610,
LX $14,910, EX $16,510.  Pricing for the 2002 Civic Sedan: DX $13,010,
LX $15,110, EX $17,010.  The automatic transmission remains an $800 option
(HX is $1,000 for CVT) and side SRS airbags remain available on all trim
levels for $250.

    Pricing for the 2002 Honda Passport has increased by 1.2 percent on a
sales weighted basis, representing a $300 price increase on most trim levels
(EX-L increased by $400).  Pricing for the 2002 Passport is as follows:
LX (2WD) $23,300, LX (4WD) $26,450, EX (2WD) $27,100; EX (2WD) with Luxury
Package $28,450, EX (4WD) $29,550; EX (4WD) with Luxury Package $30,900.
Automatic transmissions are standard on EX trim levels and a $1,150 option on
LX trim levels.
