PENDLETON, Ind. - One week after filing a lawsuit against Viacom and TNN, the American Speed Association has reached an agreement to drop its request for a preliminary injunction in regard to the decision to tape delay two events on the 2 001 ASA ACDelco Series schedule.

The agreement specifies that the Miller Lite 300 at the Minnesota State Fair Park on Labor Day, September 3, will air on a tape-delayed basis, at 12:30 a.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, September 4, and will re-air on Saturday, September 8, at 4 p.m. Eastern t ime.

The season ending Tirerack.com 200 on September 29 at Indianapolis Raceway Park will air live, at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The start time for the Tirerack.com 200 has been moved up by one-hour to 8 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. local).

ASA officials informed competitors at the Pennsylvania 300 at Jennerstown Speedway of a portion of the agreement on Saturday.

“We felt, and continue to feel, that this action was necessary to protect ASA, our sponsors, our competitors and your sponsors,” the statement read.
