"The Monte Carlo Looney Tunes Challenge" Sweepstakes Launched

Chevrolet, Warner Bros. Consumer Products Launch "The Monte Carlo Looney Tunes Challenge" Sweepstakes

Chevrolet and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are joining forces for "The Monte Carlo Looney Tunes Challenge" national sweepstakes promotion, culminating September 8 with the "Monte Carlo 400 with the Looney Tunes" NASCAR Winston Cup race in Richmond, VA. The sweepstakes will run from July 24 to September 4 and one lucky grand prize winner will be given the keys to a 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo High Sport SS, valued at $28,000.

Sweepstakes entrants can register online by visiting chevy.com or America Online Keyword: Monte Carlo 400. The site will allow visitors to support their favorite NASCAR driver by choosing one of seven Looney Tunes-themed Monte Carlos competing in the "Monte Carlo 400 with the Looney Tunes" in Richmond. Entrants whose favorite Team Monte Carlo driver finishes first among the Looney Tunes group will be entered in the sweepstakes. Participants can tune in to the race, broadcast live at 7:30 p.m. EST on TNT, and cheer on their chosen Looney Tunes driver to the checkered flag.

"We look forward to the September 8 race in Richmond, when we plan to see a parade of Looney Tunes cars take the checkered flag in a sweep of the race," said Don Parkinson, Monte Carlo Brand Manager at Chevrolet.

Sweepstakes entrants could win:
Grand prize: 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo High Sport SS (1)
2nd prize: Trip to Hollywood for two (1)
3rd prize: $500 Lowe's Home Improvement Gift Cards (25)
4th prize: Movie passes for two for a year (1)
5th prize: 1:64-scale die-cast model sets of all seven Looney Tunes race cars (50)
6th prize: One-year subscription to AOL (50)

As part of a totally integrated marketing campaign, the sweepstakes is the latest affiliation between Chevrolet and Warner Bros. The two first formed an alliance in 1998 with the launch of the special edition Warner Bros. Chevy Venture van and has expanded to Chevy motorsports with the introduction of Taz as the Monte Carlos's alter ego.

"There is no question that we are very excited about pairing some of the top Winston Cup drivers with the most beloved classic cartoon characters of all time," said Dan Romanelli, president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Consumer Products.

Each of seven of Looney Tunes most popular characters has been paired with his Team Monte Carlo counterpart. They are:

# 24 Jeff Gordon - Bugs Bunny
# 29 Kevin Harvick - Tasmanian Devil
# 5 Terry Labonte - Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote
# 30 Jeff Green - Daffy Duck
# 1 Steve Park - Sylvester & Tweety
# 55 B. Hamilton - Marvin the Martian
# 31 Mike Skinner - Yosemite Sam

One page advertising inserts announcing the sweepstakes will appear in the August 10th, 17th, and 24th issues of Entertainment Weekly magazine.
