Saturn Original Parts Links Up With OEConnection

Detroit, Mich., and Richfield, Ohio– Independent automobile parts and service providers will have on-line access to purchase Saturn original equipment parts through OEConnection’s e-Commerce suite of products. Saturn Corporation, headquartered in Detroit, Mich. and OEConnection, LLC, headquartered in Richfield, Ohio, announced today an agreement that will enable Saturn automotive retailers and their wholesale customers to do business through OEConnection’s e-Commerce Web site (www.OEConnection.com). Saturn is the newest automaker participant in OEConnection’s parts and service portal, which was founded by DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Bell & Howell.

OEConnection’s CollisionLink™ product, which facilitates the parts specification and ordering process between dealerships and their collision shop customers, will be the first product available to Saturn retailers and their parts customers. The on-line service helps body shops order original equipment parts by enhancing communication between them and Saturn retail parts departments. CollisionLink™, which is provided at no cost to the body shop, checks orders for accuracy so the right part is ordered the first time, resulting in reduced cycle time.

“We are extremely pleased to announce Saturn’s participation with OEConnection, as they bring a motivated team of retailers that are driven to add efficiency to their parts operations,” said Kevin Weidinger, OEConnection Vice President, Sales and National Accounts. “Our combined efforts will broaden the scope of OE parts available to OEConnection customers, while enhancing the relationship between Saturn retailers and their wholesale parts customers,” continued Weidinger.

"Linking wholesale customers with our Saturn retailers through the use of OEConnection products is a natural step in the evolution of our retail parts network," said H. Mark Ray, Saturn Executive Director of Service & Parts Operations. "This web based service will improve the ordering process for collision parts, and also enhance the overall efficiency of both the collision repair shop and the Saturn retailer."

To assist Saturn retailers in more efficiently delivering genuine Saturn parts to their wholesale parts customers, the corporation will provide OEConnection with parts, service and related technical information. Saturn’s field team will also assist in the communication and promotion of OEConnection product offerings to Saturn retailers. Saturn, General Motors' largest wholly owned automotive affiliate supporting approximately 500 retail locations in the United States and Canada, is known for deploying new and innovative technologies in support of its retailer network.
