ARAC RE/MAX: Alexander edges Kimmel for Michigan Pole

BROOKLYN MI - Like the brutal Michigan summer heat, Montoursville PA's Blaise Alexander is just as hot.

Alexander, in his own Central PA Auto Auction Pontiac, edged Frank Kimmel in a Ford by 1000th of a second to win the Old Milwaukee Pole Award here Thursday at Michigan Int'l Speedway. And if it were measured in distance, it would equal about 2 inches after a lap around the MIS 2-mile superspeedway. Alexander, in 90 degree+ heat, and track temperatures reaching 140, stopped the clock at 39.205 seconds (183.650 mph) over Kimmel's 39.206.

Rick Carelli, in the RE/MAX Int'l Chevy, was third over the Pontiac of Jason Jarrett in fourth with Robert Burrough, also in a Pontiac, finishing the top-five.

Saturday's Michigan ARCA RE/MAX 200 gets underway at 3 PM ET.
