Texas Schools Receive A+ For Ecological Stewardship

CARROLLTON, Texas--June 28, 2001--Earlier this month Hydrotex recognized seventy-two Independent and County School districts throughout Texas.
These school districts were recognized for their Ecological Stewardship and given a Hydrotex Environmental Partnership Award. "For all of our customers who share our commitment to business methods, and product technologies that reduce emissions and toxic waste and conserve valuable natural resources an EPA award is framed and presented. As Your Lubrication Solution Partner(TM), we take our ecological stewardship very seriously when we work with you to solve lubrication problems," Dwight Gleaves announced during the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation Annual Convention. "Seventy-four Texas school districts are currently using our Fuel Improver product line," continued Gleaves, Vice President Pupil Transportation for Hydrotex. "In recognition for their efforts and commitment to the environment, Hydrotex will be awarding each school district with the Environmental Partnership Award." The Hydrotex Fuel Improver line includes Fuel Improvers that reduce harmful exhaust emissions and improve fuel economy. "Hydrotex demonstrated to us with emission testing that their diesel fuel improver PowerKleen really does lower the emissions output of our buses," proclaimed Vernon Cross, Director at Clear Creek ISD in League City, Texas. "In a short two-week test of PowerKleen we saw a significant drop in the NOx output levels," he added.
"We've been using Hydrotex fuel improvers for more than 15 years. During that time we have seen our fuel pump maintenance and repairs drop to virtually zero," says Gerald Sheffield, Shop Foreman at Waller ISD. "We have several buses with 300,000 plus miles that have not required any maintenance or repairs to their original fuel pumps." "Our partners in the DFW Metroplex have reported a smoother, quieter running bus," added John Cummins, Hydrotex Vice President Product Marketing and Technical Services.
"Schools and communities throughout the country have become more aware and more focused on their fuel in the past 18 months," explained John Cummins. "The quality of gasoline and diesel continues to decline as today's refineries use thermal-cracking, catalytic-cracking, hydro-cracking, reformatting, desulfuration and oxygenation processes to squeeze the last drop of fuel from each barrel of crude. Fuel customers experience the decline in fuel quality with dirty injectors, clogged filters, smoky exhausts and higher repair and maintenance expenses. Using fuel improvers today is a proven method to get 'your money's worth' and increase the performance and fuel economy of bus fleets," Cummins added.
"Our School Partners today throughout the state of Texas have recognized the value of Fuel Improvers. I believe that our partners have a lot of local pressure to conserve fuel costs and stay under budget. The beauty of our products is that our Fuel Improver will save you money in fuel costs, reduce your repair and maintenance expense and earn you the recognition of being an Environmental Partner in your communities," Gleaves proudly announced.
