GM Launches Online Automotive Shopping Site in Colombia

Company Leverages Global Experience and Local Expertise in Designing Consumer-Friendly Site of Unprecedented Functionality

Bogotá, Colombia - GM Colmotores has announced the launch of the most powerful automotive website offered to date to the Colombian customer, www.chevrolet.com.co. By harnessing GM's global experience in e-commerce and combining it with local expertise and dealer insight in the strategic planning of the website, GM was able to design a consumer-friendly site of unprecedented functionality in this market.

The redesigned www.chevrolet.com.co is a natural step for GM Colmotores which over the years has worked to offer the most complete customer experience offered in Colombia by developing a chain of Chevrolet value added services. Innovative tactics like this one have helped position the company as the undisputed market leader for more than 14 years, most recently, with a 35% share.

The www.chevrolet.com.co website is anchored by Chevrolet BuyPower, a global tool designed to help customers research and purchase the vehicle of their choice. Once the customer selects their preferred brand, model, color and price range, the site locates the vehicle at the closest Chevrolet dealership. Colombia is the 16th country in which General Motors offers this online shopping and buying service

The new website also boasts a tool unique to Colombia, Usados Triple AAA. It enables customers to locate used vehicles, of both Chevrolet and competitive brands, which can be purchased through a Chevrolet dealer. Through this function the customer can see the vehicle's technical specification, photo, and price, as well as submit an application for credit and insurance coverage. All vehicles are categorized based on common inspection standards followed by the dealers which merit the new brand Usados Triple AAA.

Furthermore, through the service function called Mantenimiento Preventivo (preventive maintenance) customers can book service appointments or get cost estimates from their dealers as well as maintain records of services performed.

Other sections of the website serve as resources to the customer as well. Among these are "Chevrolet Models," which shows and describes the brand's complete model line-up; "Chevrolet in Colombia, which outlines the company's history; "Chevrolet News" which provides updates on product lunches, promotions, etc.; "A World of Support," which Chevrolet's service philosophy and services offered to customers; and a guide to the "Dealer Network," which profiles the team of Chevrolet professionals who provide customer service throughout the country.
