Honda Certified Used Cars Selling in Record Numbers

TORRANCE, Calif., May 7 The Honda Certified Used Car
program recorded its best month in the program's four year history with sales
of 8,262 for April, American Honda Motor Co. announced today.

The mark comes on the tails of a record-breaking March when 6,772 units
were sold nationwide. Year-to-date sales are up 71 percent compared to last
year with a total of 25,449 Honda Certified Used Cars sold through April. The
Accord tops the sales charts with 11,425 sales.

Consumers benefit from Honda's used car program by receiving the added
assurance of new car-like warranties. The vehicles come with financing
interest rates as low as 5.9 percent and factory-quality re-conditioning. A
Honda Certified Used Car completes an extensive inspection checklist of
150 items.

Voted the best certification program among non-luxury nameplates by
IntelliChoice for the second year running, all Honda Certified Used Cars must
be less than six-years-old and have less than 80,000 miles. Honda backs each
certified used car with a limited factory warranty offering seven years or
100,000 miles on the powertrain and 12 months or 12,000 miles on
non-powertrain components, plus any unused new-car warranty coverage. For
2000, the program sold 50,872 units.
