Myers Industries Declares Quarterly Dividend; Prepares to List Stock On the NYSE From the AMEX

    AKRON, Ohio--April 26, 2001--The Board of Directors of Myers Industries, Inc. (AMEX:MYE) today declared a $0.06 per common share quarterly cash dividend.
    The dividend will be paid July 2, 2001, to shareholders of record as of June 15, 2001.
    Effective May 1, 2001, Myers Industries' stock will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The Company was previously listed on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). Myers Industries' stock symbol, "MYE", will be retained .

    Myers Industries, Inc. is an international manufacturer of plastic and rubber products for industrial, agricultural, automotive, commercial, and consumer markets. Products range from reusable plastic containers and plastic flower planters to plastic storage and organization products, rubber OEM parts, rubber tire repair products, and custom rubber materials. The Company is also the largest wholesale distributor of tools, equipment, and supplies for the tire service and automotive underbody repair industry in the United States.
