DELSY Electronic Components Makes Fingerprint Scanning History

    CHICAGO--April 4, 2001--

Company Demonstrates Revolutionary New Indoor/Outdoor Sensor at ISC
    and COMDEX Shows This Week

DELSY Electronic Components today announced its introduction of the world's most robust, and most versatile fingerprint scanning sensor.
The German company will be demonstrating the DELSY(R)CMOS Fingerprint Scanning Sensor for the first time at this week's COMDEX tradeshow in Chicago and at the ISC West Expo in Las Vegas. This new stamp-size product, utilizing DELSY's patented Direct-Optical Scanning (DiOS(TM)) technology, recognizes fingerprints within a fraction of a second. Its distinguishing features make DELSY(R)CMOS a practical security and convenience device, eliminating the need for conventional cumbersome keys or admission codes in access control, E-Commerce, M-Commerce, automotives, IT security, and firearm security.
"DELSY is proud to be making its most significant announcement yet at this year's COMDEX show," said Hans Jurgen Pohs, CEO and Founder. "Our sensor withstands the test of the most demanding of users seeking convenience and security under the most rigorous conditions. Our success-rate in European banks and prisons over the past 2 years makes us absolutely certain that this is the product that will raise biometric devices to a new level and catalyze their mainstream use for the first time."

    Product & Technology

DELSY's cutting edge DiOS(TM) technology utilizes a fiber-optic plate to transmit light emitted from its user's finger onto a chip, producing a digital image within fractions of a second. Despite its tiny size, the DELSY(R)CMOS Sensor, with its 1.2 mm-thick, hermetically sealed fiber glass surface and expanded active area of 12 x 18 mm, produces a flawless image under the most severe weather, temperature, tampering, and electro-static conditions. DELSY(R)CMOS is compatible with most microprocessors and DSPs and can operate with a variety of driver and recognition software, allowing it to run on any platform. The product carries a guarantee of 5 years, an unprecedented quality assurance in the industry, and operates undeterred in temperatures of -104 to 185f. DELSY technology also features distinctive life-recognition characteristics, based on the measurement of human capacitance, blood oxymetry and pulse.
