Buffalo, NY - Fix Motorsports and Paul Fix II, driver for the team, have selected a Crew Chief for the #77 Classic Tube ‘Bent On Perfection’ Mustang Cobra.

Johnson was chosen for his unique talents. A combination of driving experience and engineering knowledge allows Gary to understand what the driver is encountering and effectively tune the car to create that winning combination. This ability makes Gary a valuable asset to the team.

“I'm really excited about joining Fix Motorsports for the 2001 season. The team has top notch equipment, and Paul has the drive and commitment it's going to take to do well. The chance to compete for ‘Rookie of the Year’ was also a deciding factor in joining Fix Motorsports. I want the Trans-Am community to see what a new and modestly funded team can achieve.”, stated Gary Johnson.

Paul Fix began his racing career in 1989 in SCCA club racing. In 1992, Fix moved on to the SVRA series running in the Sports Car class (Group 6). Fix also joined the Historic Sports Car Series (HSR). In 1999, Paul made his first professional FIA effort in the Canadian Challenge GT Cup. 2000 brought Paul to the Motorola Cup Series in a Mustang Cobra R, driving in the Grand Sport division. With much success, Paul is now moving on to Pro SCCA Trans-Am series. He will be a serious contender for this year's "Rookie of the Year" honors.

The #77 Mustang Cobra is sponsored by Classic Tube 'Bent on Perfection'; Driving Ambitions Performance Driving Schools; Mechanix Wear; Royal Purple and Fram Air Filters.
