Ultra Motorcycle's Sledgehammer Gets Rave Reviews in Hot Bike Magazine
MIRA LOMA, Calif.--Feb. 14, 2001--Ultra Motorcycle Co. announced that UMC's newest rigid frame chopper, the Sledgehammer, with the Ultra-wide 230 rear tire, which is featured in the Walt Disney production, "Bubble Boy," scheduled for release this summer, received celebrity status in a recent evaluation by the staff of Hot Bike Magazine ("Hot Bike").In the March issue of Hot Bike, an over-the-counter 2001 ULTRA Sledgehammer left the editors fighting over who would take the bike home after it performed flawlessly during a comprehensive evaluation.
According to the Hot Bike staff: "Our collective editorial eyes were greeted by her sleek curves, five-inch over forks, gleaming chrome and one of the coolest factory paint jobs we've seen in a while ... The big-inch motor coupled to Ultra's smooth shifting five-speed gearbox via an enclosed belt drive, felt quite smooth for a rigidly mounted motor of this size ... "
"We were pleasantly surprised to find that the 230/60 x 15-inch Avon tire coupled with a well-padded solo seat from High End, did a really good job of cushioning us from all but the nastiest of road irregularities ... This bike got more thumbs-up from girls in cars than any bike we've ever tested."
In closing they noted: "Riding a chopper is about attitude, not racing, and this baby has plenty of attitude. And if you take into account the MSRP of $23,995, the dollar-to-fun ratio heads right off the chart!"
