GenCorp Appoints J. Robert Anderson as Director

    SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 12 GenCorp announced
that J. Robert Anderson has been appointed a Director of the Board.  This
brings the number of GenCorp Directors to eight.

    Mr. Anderson is currently semi-retired, and is an active leader in various
business, civic and philanthropic organizations.  He most recently was Vice
Chairman, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of
the Grumman Corporation from 1991 to 1994.  From 1963 to 1983, Mr. Anderson
held various positions at Ford Motor Company, including President of the Ford
Motor Land Development Corporation.  He was the Senior Vice President, Chief
Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of The Firestone Tire
and Rubber Company from 1983 to 1989 and Vice Chairman of
Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc. from 1989 to 1991.

    Mr. Anderson is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and

of Inter-Tel, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona.
