IROC True Value Pit Notes, Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL - True Value IROC test drivers, Dave Marcis, Jim Sauter, Dick Trickle, and Andy Hillenburg were on hand this morning to drive with whomever needed running mates on the race track, but Bush series driver, Jeff Green, Indy Racing Northern Light driver, Mark Dismore, CART FedEx driver, Kenny Brack and Winston Cup's Jeff Burton kept the seats occupied.

Track time is precious and whenever True Value IROC participants can steel away for some practice in the Pontiac Firebirds, they do.

Jeff Green said, "The car's handing great. I can run from the top to the apron (bottom) and it's solid. These things are a lot of fun."

Of his initial practice run this year, Mark Dismore said, "I feel like I've got a better handle on this than I did last year, I'm looking forward to better results. I could feel the car suck up better than last year, referring to the roof strip device, similar to the one used in NASCAR, which aerodynamically allows the cars to stay together in a tight draft resulting in dramatically close racing and multiple lead changes.

Kenny Brack returned from CART testing for the morning session, which he felt was very beneficial. "As much time as I can get in these cars, I'll take. You learn something new every lap. I be back Monday."
