Brent Kaeding of Campbell, CA was born on September 5, 1957 in San Jose, CA. His family includes daughter Reyna (18), and sons Tim (16) and Brandon (16). Kaeding is the son of many-time San Jose Speedway and State of California champion Howard Kaeding, and as such, grew up around race cars. He started his racing career in 1978, claiming the Rookie of the Year title at Santa Maria Speedway for sprint cars, winning two main events. Since then, he has gone on to win 8 Northern Auto Racing Club sprint car championships and 7 Golden State Challenge "King of California" titles, laying claim to over 200 main event victories along the way. Kaeding has enjoyed success in both sprint cars and midgets, winged and non-winged. Major wins include San Jose Speedway's Johnny Key Classic (1980). Turkey Night for midgets at Ascot Park (1985), several World of Outlaws feature victories including the Mini Gold Cup at Chico's Silver Dollar Speedway, several CRA and SCRA non-winged main event wins, the Skagit Speedway Super Dirt Cup, and the Open Wheel Driver of the Year by the Motor Sports Press Association.
Kaeding is generally regarded as the man to beat in sprint car racing in Northern California. After many years as owner and proprietor of Kaeding Gambler Center, Kaeding will become the West Coast distributor for Maxim Chassis in 1996, supplying chassis and component parts to racers throughout California. Kaeding drove the black #69 BK Racing Gambler/Shaver in 1995, with sponsorship coming from Motorola, Brix Sports, High 5 Pizza, Rios Construction, McCreary Tires and Matco Tools. Crew chief Bill Albini heads up a veteran team consisting of Chris Good, Bruce Homer, Rich Paulson, Bill Foland, and Mike Bingham. Expect Kaeding to defend his 1995 NARC and Golden State Challenge Series titles in 1996, as he continues to be the top sprint car driver in Northern California.

Paul McMahan, born December 1, 1970 in Sacramento, CA, completed his most successful season in sprint cars in 1995 by finishing a close second to Brent Kaeding in both the Northern Auto Racing Club and the Golden State Challenge "King of California" series title chases. McMahan won the demanding NARC Speedweek crown, a grueling 6 races at 6 different tracks in 6 days, and claimed six NARC feature events in 1995.
He started his racing career at age 5 driving quarter midgets, and it wasn't long before he achieved major success, taking the National Championship in 1981, as well as winning six Pacific Coast Championships and four American Quarter Midget point championships between 1976 and 1987. It was in 1987 that McMahan made the jump to sprint car racing, and in his fourth ever attempt, he won his first main event and ended the season 4th in points at Placerville Speedway. Since then, he has enjoyed considerable success throughout California, Arizona, and the Knoxville Nationals. When the World of Outlaws made their annual West Coast swing in 1995, McMahan was the top-finishing and most competitive Californian racing against the countries best sprint car drivers. As a result, the Motor Sports Press Association awarded him the Open Wheel Driver of the Year for 1995.
McMahan drove the white and blue #3 J.B./Tri-C Engines car owned by Clyde Lamar in 1995, sponsored by Tri-C Manufacturing, Tri-C Engines, Tri-C Machine, Eldorado Hotel Casino, J.B. Enterprises, McCreary Tires, and Pro Shocks. Crew chief Eric "Woody" Vanornum heads the crew which consists of Chuck Rodriguez, Tim Spencer, Jason Lamar, Ron McMahan, and Scott Morris. McMahan is married to Jan, and they have a one-year old son, Brayden. He's a machinist by trade, and when he's away from the race track, McMahan enjoys golf, fishing, and hunting. Look for Paul McMahan to make a serious bid for the NARC/Golden State Challenge titles in 1996.

Kevin Pylant of Santa Cruz, born on September 14, 1964, enjoyed his most successful sprint car racing season to date in 1995. He won the prestigious Jim Raper Memorial Super Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway in Washington after a spirited dual with Brent Kaeding, and backed it up with a rich win at San Jose Speedway during the second annual Trophy Cup.
Before joining the sprint car ranks, Pylant won his share of NASCAR street stock and then late model stock car races and championships at Watsonville and Antioch. In 1988, he started his sprint car driving career, and immediately began making a name for himself on the competitive NARC circuit. Pylant's 1995 ride was his father, Don Pylant's Maxim chassis powered by Bob Andrews Racing Engines (B.A.R.E.), and sported the colorful paint job and familiar #14P. Sponsors include Unicopy, Riley Collins Auto Body, D & D Roofing, and Maxim race cars. Pylant, who is single, expects to be even more competitive in NARC/Golden State Challenge competition in 1996, and fully intends on defending his Super Dirt Cup Crown come June at Skagit Speedway.
