American Woman Motorscene magazine is a seven-year-old national automotive-lifestyle magazine targeting women, a $65 billion-a-year market. Women purchase more than 50% of all vehicles and influence 80% of all sales. And, on a recreational side, more than 40% of the viewing audience at motorsports venues are women. Industry experts are predicting women will be purchasing more than 60% of all new vehicles by 2000.

The AWM website, like the magazine, is dedicated to active and working women who comprise this formidable body of consumers. Features will include new- and used-car reviews, performed and written by women road test editor's to ensure that they're written from a woman's point of view and written in a language women understand and can relate to. AWM website user's will be guaranteed honest and accurate information.

There also will be plenty of motorcycling reviews and profiles for and about the half-million female motorcycle enthusiasts in America, the fastest growing segment of riders in the industry today. Both departments will offer a "new products" section to keep you apprised of what each industry is doing to meet your growing and changing needs.

The AWM website is committed to educating women on a variety of topics such as car and motorcycle care, purchasing, leasing, finding the best insurance and loans, how to find an honest mechanic and do-it-yourself maintenance tips to save time and money.  There will be numerous profiles on women of accomplishment, from the racetrack to the boardroom. Whether it' s four-wheeling off-road, motorcycling, racing, hot rodding or career opportunities for women in the industry, AWM will keep you up to date on who's doing what and where. The industry has opened its doors to women, creating many opportunities in many arenas, one of which may be waiting for you.

And, last but probably most important, the AWM website will address some of the most important automotive- related issues concerning women today, like how to avoid violence at your vehicle/motorcycle, traveling alone, when your teen gets a license, when aging parents drive, how to deal with condescending salesmen, purchasing vs, leasing, places to go/things to see, road trip vacations, how to meet traveling companions, how to negotiate the best deal, and information on upcoming events and opportunities in your favorite venues.

AWM's message and mission is to "Share the Spirit of Adventure" by creating a highway to harmony for a more gender-blended acceptance in the world of wheels. We invite and welcome male readers, as well as their views and opinions. After all, the AWM website will have something for everyone, especially for those who want to share their love for wheels and need for speed.
