Production Hinderances in Service By Gene White |
||||
|
Gene White Management's Form 5022 is a quick checklist of the many things that interfere with or hinder productivity in the service department. First, evaluate and check off each of the items that you feel are hurting your shop's productivity. Second, realistically decide who controls each, the technician, management or both. It should become obvious that management controls the majority of the hindrances. Use the checklist as a timing and action calendar utilizing the "Action Needed" and "Date Completed" columns for this purpose. If you utilize a participative style of management, you may want to form a committee or "Quality Circle" group to evaluate possible solutions to the more difficult or involved problems. In reference to item #45, Gene White Management, Inc., firmly believes that each technician's productivity level should be posted in a visible location for technicians' viewing only, along with their forecast and the National Benchmark. |
