Congratulations! You are now holding in your hand the last issue of DEALER magazine of the millennium. But the really big news is, it's also the last bimonthly issue.
Starting in January, for the first time ever, DEALER will be published monthly-12X Ziegler, 12X Digital Dealer, 12X Sub Prime Cuts, 12X Cover Stories, 12X your favorite/most valuable experts and consultants writing articles expressly from the dealer's perspective.
But wait, there's morestarting in January, we will feature two new
"branded" sections: "F&I" and "Used Cars." As with "Digital Dealer" and "Sub Prime Cuts", every issue of DEALER will feature branded sections on F&I and used cars with articles, editorial and advertisements specific to those topics.
Plus, we will have a new feature in every issue that actually starts this issue: "Dealer Undercover." In our never-ending quest to be the dealer advocate
publication, each issue of DEALER will feature an interview with a prominent, successful dealer in which we have a
no-holds-barred discussion about a critical issue facing dealers; except the names are removed to protect the innocent.
The dealers interviewed will always be well-known players, but they will speak anonymously so as to allow them to speak their minds without fear of retaliation or reprisals. Of course, just like with Ziegler, it's going to cost me (ad sales), but don't you worry about that. I decided a long time ago who I would serve. To paraphrase the #1 read and used book of all time, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other." I do not serve advertisers. I do not serve a large magazine holding company. I do not serve an association and I do not serve automobile manufacturers. I serve you, the franchised automobile dealer. You are my master. Everything and everybody else is secondary. You just keep reading and responding with letters, faxes, emails and filled-in
