BUILDING TO INSPIRE

Curving horizontal lines of white masonry and black glass, topped by a pyramid skylight mark the striking exterior of the new Automotive Hall of Fame located in Dearborn, Michigan. The distinctive architectural design sets it apart from its neighbor, Henry Ford Museum, with its red brick, early America exterior.
The new Automotive Hall of Fame, which opens August 16, contains 11,000 square feet of intriguing, interactive exhibits that tell the stories of individual innovation and achievement in the global motor vehicle industry's more than 100-year history.

Additional Background

Five Detroit area companies were selected as the team to build and furnish the new Automotive Hall of Fame. The firms are the Ann Arbor architectural firm of Hobbs + Black with John M. Olson Company of St. Clair Shores the general contractor. The Museum Division of Exhibit Works in Livonia designed and is constructing the exhibits; Nightingale Consulting Associates (formerly Slater and Associates) of Bloomfield Hills was capital campaign consultant and NBD Bank of Dearborn coordinated the $10-million financial package.
