"The Driving Spirit" Video:
Worthy of Two Thumbs Up!
DEARBORN, MI, July 7, 1997--One of the major attractions of the new Automotive Hall of Fame is its 65-seat theater complete with state-of-the-art high definition video projection and big theater surround-sound. But what makes this theater special is "The Driving Spirit," the Hall of Fame's exciting new eight-minute video presentation, which previewers enthusiastically testify is worthy of two thumbs-up from any critic or audience.
"Its role is to begin the inspirational process we feel will be achieved when men, women and children come to visit the new Hall of Fame," says G. Donald Adams, Director of Marketing and Visitor Services. "Clearly, our visitors are going to experience a fast-paced river of images and stories about the people who have changed our lives."
Star of the video is Andy, a 10-year-old boy who serves as host. Early in the video Andy tells his viewers, "Today I'm going to take you on a trip . . . a trip that begins in the mind and ends somewhere none of us has been -- the future. It's a trip inside the Automotive Hall of Fame."
When the presentation ends, the video screen retracts into the ceiling, large exit doors dramatically open to reveal the bright, natural light of the Soichiro Honda Atrium and the Hall of Fame's elegant Dedication Center beyond . . . and the journey begins.
The new Automotive Hall of Fame is designed and built to be a visitor attraction and educational resource. It recognizes and celebrates accomplished individuals in the
