Automotive Hall of Fame Committed to Education           DEARBORN, MI, July 7, 1997 -- Educational programs are at the heart of the Automotive Hall of Fame's mission. The objective is to provide an informal and entertaining learning environment that brings to life the lessons learned in the classroom. By experiencing the efforts and accomplishments of those honored in the Hall of Fame, visitors realize that they too can achieve great things.            With construction nearly completed, the new Automotive Hall of Fame opens August 16, showcasing its new home adjacent to the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan.            "The Hall of Fame's interactive exhibits will clearly demonstrate to educational groups, as well as everyday visitors, how today's many motor vehicle ideas and innovations -- often taken for granted -- are actually based on ideas developed by the industry pioneers honored by the Hall of Fame," says Daniel Kroupa, Manager of Educational Programs and Outreach. "From these examples, visitors not only discover the many paths to accomplishment, but are reminded that there is plenty of room for everyone to achieve their potential and make their own mark."            An Educational Advisory Committee, comprised of classroom teachers and youth group leaders, drawn from throughout the region, will advise the Hall of Fame on the development of curriculum-themed field trip programs, customized projects for organizations such as Scouts and Junior Achievement, and special education exhibits designed to attract school and youth groups during the months of January through June.            The new Automotive Hall of Fame is designed and built to be a visitor attraction and educational resource. It celebrates accomplished people of the worldwide motor vehicle industry for the purpose of inspiring others, especially young people, to higher levels of achievement in their own work and lives. It is a unique "people place" of innovation and inspiration where interactive experiences and one-on-one demonstrations are entertaining and enlightening.            Automotive Hall of Fame hours of operation and admission: through October, daily, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; November through Memorial Day, daily except Mondays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; admission, $6 adult, $5.50 senior 62+, $3 youth.
