Job Applications Available: Circa 1910           DEARBORN, MI, July 7, 1997 -- One of the new Automotive Hall of Fame's most engaging interactive exhibits will prompt visitors to apply for a job at Buick Motor Company headed by Charles Nash.            According to G. Donald Adams, Director of Marketing and Visitor Services, this is how the exhibit works:            "The year is 1910. Ragtime music is playing, and you are on your way to an exciting career in the fledgling motor vehicle industry.            "There's a newspaper classified section in front of you and a magnifying glass at your fingertips which you can move to a job that's of interest. When moved to a particular job, the magnifying glass will spring to life with videos of the people who were working that job in 1910. If the job looks interesting, you can apply for it. After you've completed the application electronically and the employer has had time to consider you, the telephone will ring with the verdict.            "Be assured, you got a job at Buick in 1910. However, the position offered may be another one that better fits your skills. When you've completed this fun and educational process, you'll get a free take-home story of an actual person who held that job," Adams said.            Charles Nash went on to become President of General Motors and to found Nash Motors, the company that eventually became American Motors before it was absorbed by Chrysler Corporation.            This is only one interactive exhibit from among the Automotive Hall of Fame's more than 11,000-square feet of exhibits and displays designed to engage, challenge and delight visitors of all ages. The $10-million complex adjacent to Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, opens August 16.            The new Automotive Hall of Fame is designed and built to be a visitor attraction and educational resource. It celebrates accomplished people of the worldwide motor vehicle industry for the purpose of inspiring others, especially young people, to higher levels of achievement in their own work and lives. It is a unique "people place" of innovation and inspiration where interactive experiences and one-on-one demonstrations are entertaining and enlightening.            Automotive Hall of Fame hours of operation and admission: through October, daily, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; November through Memorial Day, daily except Mondays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; admission, $6 adult, $5.50 senior 62+, $3 youth.
