Cobalt expands its lineup with the addition of SS coupe and sedan models, and revises the model strategy to now include the entry-level LS coupe and sedan, LT coupe and sedan, and the premium LTZ sedan. Returning is the SS Supercharged coupe.
Highlights of the SS coupe and sedan models include a 2.4-liter VVT four-cylinder engine with 171 horsepower and 163 lb.-ft. of torque, standard five-speed manual transmission, and available four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
Cobalt offers buyers a variety of powertrain and suspension combinations that deliver distinct levels ranging from maximized economy to race-inspired performance. The 2.2-liter engine of the LS, LT and LTZ models is rated at 145 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 155 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The 2.0-liter SC engine of the Cobalt SS Supercharged produces 205 horsepower) and 5600 rpm and 200 lb.-ft. of torque at 4400 rpm.
