Power Trio Adds to AMA National Hillclimb SeasonWESTERVILLE, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) National Hillclimb Series has added a new race date to the season schedule, thanks to a trio of professional hillclimb riders. TNT Productions, owned by professional hillclimbers Jim Thompson and his son, Terry, will promote round nine of the series, to be held Aug. 23 in Laurelville, Ohio. The new, 300 foot. Laurelville Hillclimb course will be designed by hillclimber Steve Dresser, of Arkport, N.Y. The Thompsons and Dresser bring a wealth of experience to the Laurelville event. Jim Thompson is the 1970 AMA Pro B Hillclimb Champion and winner of the 1977 and 1978 All-Star Challenge Invitational races. Terry Thompson was ranked third in the 1997 540cc National Hillclimb Series, and won the 1997 All-Star Invitational Challenge in Norton Shores, Mich. Dresser is the 1995 AMA 800cc Hillclimb Champion, and also designed the course for the August 1997 National Hillclimb in Dansville, N.Y.
