Alwin Springer Joins USRRC Board of Directors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —Alwin Springer, Director of Porsche Motorsport, North America, has joined the United States Road Racing Championship Board of Directors, serving as the Board’s eighth member.

Springer, who serves on the Board as a GT representative, joins Chairman Bob Snodgrass, Nick Craw, Kevin Doran, Rob Dyson, Carl Haas, Don Panoz and John Saunders.

”We’re pleased Alwin has accepted to serve on the USRRC Board of Directors,” said Snodgrass. “Alwin represents a large contingent of teams and drivers participating in the USRRC, and he has played a major role in sports car racing in the United States. Alwin is committed to the future direction of GT racing and has the experience to ensure that our strategies meet the needs of competitors in all of the USRRC’s GT classes.”

"I welcome the opportunity to help direct the USRRC along a path that will lead to balanced competition between the Can-Am and GT1, and within the GT classes,” said Springer. “Additionally, our primary goal must be to establish long-term rules stability and ensure that the interests of competitors in all of the classes are served.”

Before his assignment as Director of Porsche Motorsport, N.A., Springer, of Huntington Beach, Calif., was associated with Porsche race-engine builder Andial.
