Xpress Motorsports Brings Marketing In-HouseMOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Xpress Motorsports has hired Steve Post to develop an in-house marketing, public relations and licensing department. The team fields the No. 61 Chevrolet driven by Randy Tolsma on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. "We feel like in every aspect of our team we want to have control," said Dave Fuge, team manager and crew chief. "Bringing the marketing, public relations and licensing in-house allows us to manage them better. Plus, it gives us a complete package that we can sell to sponsors." Post, 33, a native of Hallstead, Pa., has spent the last two seasons working on the Square D Racing account with NASCAR Winston Cup driver Kenny Wallace. "This is a tremendous opportunity for me," said Post. "Randy Tolsma is a great driver and he will make a tremendous spokesperson for our sponsors and our sport. I am impressed with the way Dave Fuge manages the business and his on-track record shows that he knows what it takes to race up front. "I am very excited about the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series," continued Post. "The growth has been phenomenal. With the number to trucks and the strength of some of the teams, I think it will grow even stronger. NASCAR, Craftsman and all the manufacturers are really working hard and I like the idea of being part of that." Prior to his work in NASCAR racing, Post worked in Northeastern Pennsylvania in various capacities at Penn Can Speedway (Susquehanna, Pa.) and Moc-A-Tek Speedway (Lakeville, Pa.). He was a founding co-owner of Speed Sport Showcase, an annual racing exposition held in Scranton, Pa., and an award-winning columnist for Gater Racing Photo News. Post is a 1986 graduate from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He and his wife, Julie, live in Concord, N.C. and are expecting their first child later this spring. His parents, Ken and Ann, reside in Hallstead. Steve Coulter owns Xpress Motorsports. Coulter founded and owns IWX Motor Freight; a Springfield, Mo. based trucking firm having a fleet of more than 400 trucks. IWX serves 48 states and annually the trucks will log mare than 98,000,000 miles.
