NAPA 500 Qualifying Rained Out

Terry Labonte
ATLANTA, GA: Rain settled in the Atlanta area today causing the postponement of qualifying for the NAPA 500, the final NASCAR Winston Cup race of the season.

The stars and cars of NASCAR were to decide the top 25 starting positions this afternoon. Instead, qualifying for all 38 spots will be held tomorrow at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

If practice speeds are any indication, the track records will drop like lead balloons. Terry Labonte toured the speedway at 195 mph in an early practice session. His speed was some ten mph higher than the old track record.
