BGN: Brewco Motorsports, Timber Wolf, and Mark Green Continue Together in 1998Central City, Ky. (October 23, 1997) - Brewco Motorsports, Inc. announced today Mark Green will continue to drive the No. 37 Brewco Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 1998 NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division season. Timber Wolf brand moist snuff, a product of Swedish Match North America Inc., will remain as the primary sponsor of the Brewco Motorsports team. "Mark has proved to be an exceptional competitor in his first full season of competition in the NASCAR Busch Series," said team owner Clarence Brewer, Jr. "He has adapted very well to the series, the cars and the tracks. All of the goals Brewco Motorsports set for Mark in 1997, qualifying for every race, top 15 in the point standings and several top 10 finishes, were achieved. "In the past several races, Mark has been knocking on the door for a win," continued Brewer. "He is a very smart and consistent driver. We look forward with optimism to another great season in 1998 with Mark and Timber Wolf." Based in Central City, Kentucky, Brewco Motorsports was formed in 1995. In addition to its NASCAR Busch Series team, it has grown to include a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team with driver Scot Walters and sponsored by Red Man chewing tobacco. "The 1997 season has greatly exceeded our expectations both on the track and off," said Elliott Eliades, director of moist snuff division, Swedish Match North America. "We are very pleased to continue our association with Clarence Brewer, Brewco Motorsports and Mark Green in 1998." Green, a resident of Owensboro, Kentucky, made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 1995 at Indianapolis Raceway Park after competing for more than 11 years in late model divisions in the Kentucky area. In 40 career starts, Green has scored one top five and five top 10 finishes. His career best finish, fifth, was scored three weeks ago at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. "I couldn't ask for a better team owner than Clarence Brewer," said Green. "If it wasn't for his support, I'd still be racing late models. He understands the difficulty of competing in a series at this level and has supported me 100 percent. "The Timber Wolf team has improved greatly in the second half of the season. They are one of the best crews in the Busch Series. When we raced at tracks for the first time, we had to search to find the best setup. We learned as we went. Returning for the second time, we were able to work on fine tuning. "The 1998 season holds a lot of promise," continued Green. "The attitude has shifted from qualifying for each race to winning each race. It is very realistic to say the Timber Wolf car will visit victory lane in 1998."
