Johnny Unser to drive at Las Vegas 500KJohnny Unser will drive for Hemelgarn Racing in the Indy Racing League's season finale on October 11th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Unser, who drove for Hemelgarn Racing at this year's Indy 500, recently completed a testing session with Hemelgarn and Infiniti, and will be driving a Dallara chassis outfitted with a new version of the Infiniti powerplant, one which should bring increased horsepower while maintaining its history of reliability.
This will be the second annual Las Vegas 500K, and it promises to be an exciting race, as it will be held at night under the lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a 1.5 mile, high-banked oval. Practice is set for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with qualifying scheduled for Thursday evening. Start time for the race is set for 7:00pm on Saturday, October 11th.
