"This year has had a kind of dream-like quality about it with all the success we've enjoyed and the opportunities that have arisen as a result. Im grateful to both Lynx Racing and the AARWBA for letting me be part of such great teams." Barron is the second Lynx Racing driver to be elected to the All-American team. Lynx Racing lead mechanic, Mike West, after playing a large part in the team's two consecutive Toyota Atlantic championships (1996-1997), will take over Crew Chief duties at the Lynx Racing/DSTP Motorsports 'junior team' competing in the U.S. F2000 Championship. DSTP drivers include Ric Rushton and Tom Wood; a Lynx driver for the team has yet to be named. West started his mechanical career in Formula Ford, winning the Austrian and German titles with driver Alexander Wurz, who has gone on to become the test driver for the Bennetton Formula One team. "I've always enjoyed working with young drivers, helping them learn and helping them climb the ladder," says West. "My work with Lynx Racing has been very fulfilling that way, and I'm really happy to be able to take on a new challenge and still stay within the Lynx organization. Part of our thinking in creating a junior team like Lynx/DSTP was to provide advancement opportunities for mechanics and engineers as well as drivers, and as far as Im concerned, the plan is working just great!"
