Chevrolet SUVs and Trucks at the 2004 LA Auto Show

Chevrolet SSR
The Chevrolet SSR is the world’s first convertible sport pickup truck with an all-metal power-retractable hardtop operated by a single button. Under the hood is an all-aluminum 5.3-liter V-8 delivering 300 horsepower to the rear wheels through a computer-controlled 4-speed automatic transmission. 0 to 60 mph acceleration takes 7.6 seconds, and the SSR will run the quarter mile in 15.9 seconds.

Chevrolet Colorado
The all-new Chevrolet Colorado is a body-on-frame, midsize pickup and was completely redesigned for 2004. Crew, Regular and 4-door Extended Cab models are offered, as well as manual and automatic transmissions, 2- or shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive and a choice of 2.8-liter, 175 horsepower 4-cylinder or 3.5-liter, 220 horsepower 5-cylinder engines.
Chevrolet Equinox
Set to begin production in early 2004 as a 2005 model, and built at the GM-Suzuki joint-venture plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada, the Chevrolet Equinox is a compact ‘crossover’ SUV. The 5-passenger Equinox is available in either front- or all-wheel drive versions, both powered by a 3.4-liter, 185 horsepower V-6 engine capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds.
