LOUDON, NH: For the second week in-a-row, NASCAR Winston Cup racing has produced a first-time winner. Joe Nemechek got his first win in more than 180 career starts at the DuraLube/K-Mart 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway Sunday. Nemechek beat Tony Stewart back to the line on lap 298 of 300 as the caution came out for the final time. The race ended under the yellow flag.

Series points leader, Dale Jarrett, was penalized a lap for pitting outside his pit box. Jarrett was not able to regain his lap for the remainder of the race. Jarrett's mistake earned him an 18th finishing position. He led the race by more than 3 seconds before the infraction. He still has a commanding lead in the Winston Cup points over Mark Martin, who was caught up in two separate crashes during the race. Martin finished just ahead of Jarrett in 17th place.
