GAYDON, England - October 11, 2018: Aston Martin has achieved double success at the inaugural Motor Awards with The Sun and Sunday Times, collecting two prestigious awards at a star-studded ceremony in London last night.

The nominees for each award were chosen by a panel of motoring experts at News UK, before being put to a public vote. In the ‘Best Sports Car’ class, the panel looked for cars that were breathtakingly fast around a race track, as well as being great fun to drive at sensible speeds on the public road. They described Vantage as “…the best Aston Martin yet, an accomplished sports car that makes you proud to be British.” The Aston Martin Vantage was up against stiff competition in this category, but took the win from the Ferrari 488 Pista, Alpine A110, Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Audi RS4.

The award for ‘Best Designed Car’ went to the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, which also faced a strong category with the Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari Portofino, Lexus LC and Volvo S90. This time, the panel looked for models that are moving works of art, beautifully-proportioned inside and out, and incorporating only the best materials.

Aston Martin Vice President & Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, collected the awards on behalf of the company and said: “It is always an honour to receive recognition from within the industry, but it is a special honor to win a public vote. Both the Vantage and the DBS Superleggera provided unique challenges for us. The New Vantage has the most powerful and provocative design language ever seen in a Vantage. A hunter, a true sports car. The DBS Superleggera has been nicknamed ‘the brute in the suit’, which describes it perfectly. It is a car with incredible presence and breath-taking performance, so we are delighted to see that people love the design as much as we do.”
