ROAD TRIP: One Hundredth Birthday For Benjamin Franklin Parkway Kicks Off

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 15, 2017 -- On Thursday, September 14, Cai Guo-Qiang's Fireflies marked the start of Parkway 100, the centennial of Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The 14-month-long celebration honors the arts and culture of Parkway institutions such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, The Franklin Institute, The Academy of Natural Sciences and others with performances, exhibits, plein-air painting, art lessons and storytelling.
